Transmission Services:
If you�re like me, you�re wondering, "What the heck is the difference between a 'rebuilt' transmission and a 'remanufactured' transmission?"

Well it's a basic difference but very critical to your decision. A "Remanufactured" transmission is usually refurbished by the manufacturer or by a national parts provider, and uses all Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. These units typically come with a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty and would be considered "like new". My personal issue with a remanufactured unit is that it has all the inherent problems that the original transmission had, that none of the errors or weaknesses have been modified or fixed.

Here at NC Transmission, we Rebuild transmissions. Using our decades of experience (hey look, the guys who rebuild them have been doing this for 20 years each I didn't say I had the decades of experience!) we replace the weak parts with improved aftermarket products to not just treat the SYMPTOM, but rather to CURE the problem. I always recommend rebuilding in lieu of remanufactured.
